Technical Excellence :
Debut production of Mahesh Koneru, East coast productions has Good Technical and Production values . Shekar Chandra’s background score is excellent. Cinematography and Editing are the major advantages to the film.
Kanlyan Ram who is in bad phase from a long time tried his luck with a thriller “118” . Trailer of this film gives us enough clarity about the theme of the movie. Director K V Guhan, who previously worked as cinematographer for successfull films like Athadu, Jalsa, Dookudu, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Baadshah, Aagadu is succeeded in delivering a engaging Thriller as Director. Kalyan Ram plays the role of a young journalist in a television channel. While sleeping in room number “118” he is haunted by a dream of a girl is beaten and a car is thrown into the lake. After waking up he tries to investigate the mystery by gathering all the clues. First half of the film is racy and gives you watching a classy stuff. But when comes to second half , it becomes slow and silly sometimes. The flashback of that girl looks routine and formulaic. But Nivetha Thomas has done full justice to her role. Her performance is one of the positive thing in the film. Shalini Pandey is just okay in her role. Whole film travels without deviating from core plot.
118 is a engaging thriller filled with some classy moments.
